Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Over the years, there has been increasing interest in understanding how and why social factors shape brain functioning, cognition and decision-making. By integrating key insights from psychology, behavioral economics and methods from neuroscience, significant strides have been made in comprehending human behavior and the neural mechanisms that underlie decision-making in social settings. Yet, numerous aspects of social cognition still present enduring puzzles.

This Special Issue of the Journal of Integrative Neuroscience aims to present a collection of studies detailing the most recent advancements in the broad field of social and cognitive neuroscience of decision-making and behavior. We welcome original research papers advancing our understanding of how social factors guide human cognition, behavior and decision-making:

- Empirical studies addressing unresolved or scarcely studied questions;

- Critical reviews of existing methodological and theoretical approaches in the field;

- Discussions about necessary steps for methodological and theoretical developments in the field;

- Methodological contributions covering new experimental paradigms for exploring and testing the effects of social factors on behavior, cognition and decision-making;

-Submissions proposing new perspectives in the field, such as the influence of environmental aspects of social cognition on decision-making.

- Analytical reviews and metanalyses integrating theoretical approaches or empirical studies on how social factors drive complex behaviors in various contexts are particularly welcome.
