Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Coronary artery disease is the most important heart disease worldwide. We are faced with major challenges because of the complexity of coronary artery lesions, and because patients often have several comorbidities. Moreover, some patients undergo multiple coronary artery percutaneous interventions due to poor ventricular function.

Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine will publish a special issue on "Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: Current Updates and Future Challenges". Both research articles and review/meta-analysis articles are welcome.

Topics that may be considered include:
(1) further prevention medical therapy after coronary bypass grafting
(2) role of redo coronary artery bypass grafting and outcomes
(3) coronary disease: staged approach
(4) timing of intervention for acute coronary syndrome
(5) follow-up and image modality after bypass surgery
(6) validation of predictive scores in coronary bypass surgery
(7) mitral status after coronary artery bypass
(8) medication after bypass surgery
(9) defining adverse events; gender issues
(10) left main lesion
(11) analysis of methods of saphenous vein harvesting
(12) total/multiple arterial grafting bypass
(13) infection control/analysis in coronary artery bypass
(14) comparisons between off-pump/pump assisted/arrest heart coronary artery bypass
(15) SYNTAX issues in coronary bypass surgery
(16) long-term outcomes between percutaneous intervention and bypass surgery
(17) innovation/additional therapy during bypass surgery

We look forward to your contributions to this important issue.
