Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The recent advances in the field of cardiac imaging have improved the capability for earlier diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases to be able to better determine prognosis and select therapeutic options. Echocardiography is an essential first-line tool and multimodality imaging (MMI) is now the best approach for a comprehensive assessment of the patient, including Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR), Cardiac Computed Tomography, cardiac Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and hybrid imaging. This special issue will focus on emerging aspects of single and MMI across the cardiological spectrum to discover useful therapies.

The major topics will include:

- cardiac imaging in cardiomyopathies

- cardiac imaging in heart valve disease

- cardiac imaging in heart failure

- cardiac imaging in arrythmias

- cardiac imaging in pericardial disease

- cardiac imaging in cardiovascular prevention

- cardiac imaging in intensive care

- cardiac imaging in interventional cardiology
