Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Epigenetics is taking center stage in cardiac pathophysiology, with DNA methylation, histone modification, and noncoding RNA shown to be important in disease development and regression. For this special issue, we invite contributions from researchers and experts that explore the intricate relationship between epigenetics and cardiac pathophysiology.

The aim of this issue is to unravel the intricate web of epigenetic regulation in cardiac pathophysiology, thereby shedding light on the molecular intricacies that determine the development, progression, and potential treatment of cardiac disorders. Dynamic and reversible epigenetic regulations not only open new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, but also lay the groundwork for a deeper understanding of the interplay within cardiac pathophysiology.

We welcome Original Research, Reviews, and other article types that explore themes including, but not limited to:

Epigenome-wide associations in cardiac disorders

Epigenetic Mechanisms: Investigate the roles of DNA methylation, histone modification, and noncoding RNA in both the development and regression of cardiac diseases.

Therapeutic Targeting: Assess the clinical potential of targeting key epigenetic enzymes, including DNA methyltransferases, histone methyltransferases, histone acetylases, and histone deacetylases, along with their regulated target genes, for innovative diagnosis and treatment.

Preclinical Studies: Highlight advances in preclinical studies and drug development that target key epigenetic enzymes, thereby laying the groundwork for potential therapies in cardiac diseases.

Clinical Trials: Discuss ongoing and upcoming clinical trials that target various epigenetic processes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac diseases.

Contribute deeper insights into our understanding of the dynamic interplay between epigenetics and cardiac health, thus shaping the future of cardiovascular research and therapeutic strategies.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at https://imr.propub.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) in this open access journal is 2200 USD. Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted in good English.
