Dear Colleagues,
Aortic disease is a common cause of mortality and morbidity, especially in the growing elderly population. In particular, aortic aneurysm disease and acute aortic syndromes such as aortic dissection demand treatment via open or endovascular repair. Over the last two decades, endovascular repair of aortic pathologies has evolved with improved outcomes while their prevalence has continually increased worldwide. Vascular and endovascular surgery has progressed over time with the development of new endovascular technologies and devices.
This Special Issue aims to provide an update of persistent issues and challenges associated with the management of aortic aneurysm and dissection diseases. In the current literature, evaluation of novel devices and techniques coexists with the examination of long-term outcomes from earlier devices. Research consistently centers on challenges such as expanding the application of total endovascular approach for the arch and thoraco-abdominal aorta in a broader patient population, preventing spinal cord ischemia, and examining the role of follow-up adherence, among other issues. Accordingly, this Special Issue will provide a forum for high-quality articles to showcase the most up-to-date clinical outcomes and future development in the management of aortic aneurysm disease and aortic dissection.

Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript.
