Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Atrial fibrillation (AF), one of the most common types of arrhythmia, can lead to a variety of adverse clinical outcomes. Clinical and basic studies have found that AF is closely related to various factors such as inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic abnormalities, aging, and internal environmental changes caused by other diseases or surgeries. However, the current research cannot fully clarify the specific mechanism of occurrence and development of AF. We also lack powerful predictors and new treatment methods of AF and AF recurrence. Identification of novel mechanisms and treatments of AF can contribute to its better management and prevention.

For this special issue, we invite researchers to present their results with a focus on basic, clinical and translational investigations of AF. Reviews, meta-analyses, basic research, randomized controlled trials, epidemiological studies, cross-section studies and other types of clinical trials are all welcome.

Topics of interests include but are not limited to:

  1. Novel understanding of the occurrence and development of AF in basic or clinical studies;
  2. New methods or materials for AF treatment;
  3. Forecast and prognosis of AF.
