Special Issue Information

Dear colleagues,

Cardiovascular diseases represent the predominant global cause of mortality, contributing to an alarming 32% of all deaths in 2019. The confluence of metabolic diseases, particularly diabetes, further accentuates the risk and severity of cardiovascular issues within this landscape. With an estimated 422 million individuals worldwide with diabetes, and 1.5 million deaths annually directly attributed to this condition, a critical imperative emerges—to comprehensively address cardiovascular outcomes in this specific patient cohort.

In the past decade, there has been a notable escalation in the incidence of chronic liver disease, primarily associated with non-alcoholic/metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease, impacting 25% of the global population. Against this backdrop, cardiovascular disease has emerged as a leading cause of mortality. Recognizing the intricate interplay of these health concerns and their profound implications for clinical practice and public health, Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine is unveiling a Special Issue titled "Cardiovascular Outcomes and Disease Management in Diabetic and Liver Patients." The objective is to compile precise and up-to-date scientific information across all facets of innovative treatments and disease management strategies, with the ultimate aim of enhancing cardiovascular outcomes in individuals navigating the complex intersection of diabetes and liver disorders.

It is both an honor and a privilege to extend an invitation to you and your esteemed colleagues to contribute to this collective effort. We welcome original research articles, systematic reviews, and review articles that illuminate new perspectives, ideas, and recent advances in the dynamic field of cardiovascular outcomes and disease management in diabetic and liver patients. Your valuable contributions will undoubtedly enrich the scientific literature and pave the way for improved healthcare practices in these challenging clinical settings.
