Dear Colleagues,
Gene-environment interactions can cause cardiovascular and metabolic diseases through several mechanisms. The identification of new pathways for the development of cardiovascular diseases, as well as a better understanding of the interaction of genetic, environmental and behavioral factors that alter the genetic risks associated with cardiovascular diseases such as dyslipidemia, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity and hypertension can contribute to better management and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. There is a need for additional studies and replication in previously published data to better understand these interactions, as well as their clinical impact and the utility of these observations.
For this special issue, we solicit researchers to present their results with a focus on basic, translational and clinical investigations associated with gene-environment interactions and cardiovascular disease. Experimental studies, network meta-analysis, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, meta-analysis of published data, umbrella reviews, meta-epidemiologic studies, cross-sectional studies, diagnosis, treatment, management, prevention and clinical research for early diagnosis and treatment are all welcome.

Manuscripts should be submitted via our online editorial system at https://imr.propub.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to start your submission. Manuscripts can be submitted now or up until the deadline. All papers will go through peer-review process. Accepted papers will be published in the journal (as soon as accepted) and meanwhile listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, reviews as well as short communications are preferred. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office to announce on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. Please visit the Instruction for Authors page before submitting a manuscript.
