Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to a captivating exploration of the intricate world of human herpesviruses in this Special Issue. Here, we delve into dynamic realms of infection, including host-virus interaction, diagnostics, and treatment frontiers illuminated by cutting-edge innovations. Human herpesviruses, a family of enveloped, double-stranded DNA viruses, have long enticed researchers with their ability to establish lifelong infections, present with diverse clinical manifestations, and engage in the elaborate interplay with host immune responses. This comprehensive journey will navigate the classification landscape of human herpesviruses, encapsulating the nuances of alpha, beta, and gamma subfamilies. In addition, this Special Issue will shed light on the intriguing inclusion of tumor-associated herpesviruses, such as Epstein-Barr virus and Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, whose complex relationship with oncogenesis continues to unfold. Join us as we unravel the mysteries, confront diagnostic and treatment challenges, and explore novel therapeutic avenues in the ever-evolving saga of human herpesviruses.

In this Special Issue, we invite you to submit either an original research article or an insightful review that addresses the complexities surrounding human herpesviruses. These versatile viruses offer a rich landscape for exploration, and we are excited to see how your perspective contributes to our collective understanding.
